A virtual fairy tale full of special effects! A long time ago in a faraway world, two brave villagers go on a daring journey to release the dragons and save the kingdom from the Evil Ice Sorceress. When things don’t go as planned, however, they might need to look to themselves (and to science!) for the answer. Don’t miss this fun fantasy adventure featuring awesome dry ice experiments to bring the story to life!

This video will be available after this time until August 31st!

How can you help your child get ready to read before for Kindergarten?

This program encourages you to read 1,000 Books to your child before they start Kindergarten. ** WHILE CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19, feel free to keep track of your child's books any way that is convenient for you. When we open again your child will be able to get credit.**

Come to any Allegan County public library, pick up your reading log to track the first 100 books, then READ.  You can read from your home collection, borrow books from the library, books read at library storytimes and preschool count too.  Anytime a book is read aloud (even if it is over and over), check it off your list.

After you complete your first 100 books reading log from our library, bring the log to the library, place a sticker on your tracking log at the library and receive a 1,000 Books book bag.

After completing 500 books, your child will receive a coupon for a free cookie from the Wayland Harding’s Market.  Your coupon will be redeemable between the hours of 8AM – 4 PM at the Bakery counter.

When you finish the program – 1,000 books, your child will receive a certificate of completion and a free t-shirt.  There will be a fun photo-op at this time, so bring your phone or camera!
